You’ve heard them on air, you’ve seen them on the webcam and now, for 1 night only 2 of Leith FM’s presenters take to the small screen!
Leith FM has among its volunteers 4 presenters with sight impairments and a few weeks ago, some of you may recall references on air to bright lights (too bright for Ricky) and film crews in the studio.
“Hopes and Dreams” is a documentary following a number of former pupils of the Royal Blind School, run by the local charity “Royal Blind”. The show presents a view 12 years on from the original which followed these individuals in the school environment.
A crew from Scottish Television shadowed Martin Whitecross, (karioki kidd), presenter of Saturday Mornings 11-12 request slot and Daniel Piggins, Friday Brunch presenter and co-host of Saturday evenings groove zone for 2 days last month, focusing on a number of aspects including work, social life and of course, there life at Leith’s very own community radio station!
The programme will be screened on STV at 9pm on Thursday 8th October.
Commenting, Daniel said “…it was a bit weird having a camera team watching my every move. I’m dreading the end result as I believe they will flash back to the original programme. I don’t really want to see and hear myself aged 12 and I doubt anybody else does either! That said, I am looking forward to seeing former schoolmates, a couple of whom I’ve lost touch with, and finding out how there doing.”
Please look out for the show this Thursday at 9pm, on Scottish Television.
